Pink Dell Laptop Latitude D600 Review   by Stacey Keel

As we begin our review of the pink dell laptop model Latitude D600, we

note that this is not by any means an ultra powerful multimedia gaming

laptop, it is designed for on the go people who need a highly reliable source

of office productivity, email, and convenient Internet connectivity. We

consider the D600 to be a powerful business solution.

As far as pink laptops go in the world of colored laptop

computers, this model has always been a popular favorite with its wonderful

all pink case and exceptionally sturdy design which is perfectly suited to

handle life out on the road.

The Latitude D600 is powered by the 1.6GHz Intel Pentium 4 Mobile

processor and has 512MB of memory. This laptop will support up to a maximum

of an impressive 2GB of memory.

The 40GB hard drive is not all that big, it is fine for most situations

like storing some pictures, some iTunes songs, documents, but if you need to

store lots of really large files you will want to upgrade to a larger hard

drive or get an external USB hard drive for the extra storage. The installed

operating system is Microsoft Windows XP Professional which is an excellent

choice for a very secure operating system.

The DVD ROM will allow you to play movies on your laptop computer and the

D600 does this just fine. Remember this is not an extremely powerful

multimedia laptop but it does get the basics done quite nicely. The video is

powered by the ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 Graphic Adapter.

The 14.1 inch diagonal display on our Dell pink laptop offers a fairly typical viewing area for

portable computers and the graphics remained vivid and clear during our DVD

tests. The maximum resolution for this laptop is an adequate 1024 x 768.

As far as available ports go on the D600 we have 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 PCMCIA

slot, 1 Infrared port, VGA output, Stereo output, microphone jack, serial and

parallel ports, S-Video output, 56kb modem jack, and a standard 10/100

Ethernet port. Also as a nice security feature is the standard cable lock

port which can help deter theft.

Colored laptops make laptop computers much less boring as far as looks go and the

D600 is a great colored laptop. Other great features include the single

button screen release makes it a breeze to open this laptop while at the same

time maintains a highly reliable closed position which is great for when you

are traveling. The built in wireless card allows us to get online via any

hotspots including coffee shops, hotels, or at home.
